Today I attended the Tea Party Rally in my home town. I saw all kinds of signs, heard all kinds of speakers, and met all kinds of peoples. I saw white, blacks, and hispanics rallying together for the same cause and standing up for what is right AS ONE PEOPLE...AMERICANS. I started a conversation with a couple of African-American folks, who both corrected me and both claimed to be just AMERICANS. Making a mental note of that, I applaud them for seeing past racial lines and seeing what it means to be an American (see my post on American Heritage). We got into a conversation about why they are supporting the Tea Party. The woman was very passionate and angry at the left; she said it was simply that they are just looking to play the "race card" and nothing more. She went on to say that doing so is just like calling wolf...you do it so many times that people just blow it off, and when someone really does make a racist comment, no one is going to believe you or pay any attention. The gentleman, who said he always phoned in on our local conservative morning talk show, said that the left wants to make the whites feel guilty for being white, and they want to scare the blacks away and make them feel guilty for having conservative beliefs; "there is no country better for black people," said he. They agreed that the liberals, our President included, want to divide us and incite troubles across racial lines. I finally asked them what they thought about Obama's amusement with our rallies, and about his saying that we should be "thanking him" for being outrageously taxed. We all agreed that Barack was doing nothing more than mocking us and trying to divide us, exactly what the Founding Fathers did NOT want to do. Talking with the three of us was another white gentlemen who is preparing to deploy oversees in the next few months. We all agreed that the Tea Party rallies were a great way to express our displeasure with the government. He made a comment, though, that absolutely blew me away: "Don't make me fight a war over seas when the people at home aren't fighting for what is right." I don't think I could have summed it up any better than that.
The sad thing is, though, the left doesn't care. It has already made its mind up. It could look at a whole slideshow of pictures, read a novel of comments, and see for themselves that the Tea Party is not just made up of white rednecks, but it is a conglomeration of races, genders, religions, and ethnicities. Take heart, though, fellow conservatives. One day the blind followers of the MSM will realize that they have been lied to by the media and by this socialist administration. So go ahead and believe the lies has made up about Tea Partiers. Here are the facts. For more pics, go to Facebook Group: Tea Party of Greenville.
